Bromley-by-Bow gas holders

Last summer I was fortunate to get to go on a walking tour of the Bromley-by-bow gas holders. They were built in the late 1800’s, and last used as recently as 2010.

There are plans to develop the site, but leaving the metalwork in place.

A photo front on of an abandoned telephone booth. Inside is a red sign that says ‘no smoking no naked lights’ in capital letters. The area is overgrown with brambles.
